Thanksgiving Council Information

Updated 11/19/13 @ 3:00 PT
After endless hours of conference calls with family who chose to participate in the process, Thanksgiving Council will be in Eugene, Oregon.  Specific directions will be on the North West Tribes lightline (503) 727-2498 on or before Sunday, November 24.

If you're not familar with Thanksgiving Council, click here to learn more.  If you're not familiar with the concept of a focalizer, read this very useful rap.

This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.  There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it.  Everybody was sure Somebody would do it.  Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.  Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job.  Everybody thought Anybody could do it but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.  It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Who are you?

  2. >.< And I thought I was done hitching for a few days at least.

Well, at least I'm already in Winnemucca. First time coming to a T-Council, but I was in Montana for Spring Council all the way through cleanup. I'll be bringing a fair amount of not water packets (crystal light and such) for a single person, but hopefully I'll be there in time. Wish me luck family.

P.S. Wasn't there a whole big stink at vision council about the gathering not being held in Oregon again in 2014? I know this is only Thanksgiving Council, but I really hope we can work to abide by the previously set consensus, even if the people who were so opposed to it being Oregon again are not involved in the discussion at the present moment.

  4. Looking for riderz to T-Giving Council (is it really going to be in EUgene?) leaving Sillycon Valley Monday morning. Lunch in Corning with homeboy Vietnam vet, then overnighter in Yreka with my new Mentor, a homeopathic psychiatrist witch-doctor.

Not sure what to expect from eUGene, but I will be packed for winter camping, and I always come to Rainbow events fully self-sufficient.

Riderz coming with me need to be self-sufficient as well, and green energy for gas would be highly helpful given woeful lack of funds myself.

I need to return to bay Area day after Thanksgiving, rider welcome or not.

  5. Hi all,
Just an FYI, we tried long and hard to find a space and family willing to focalize in Nevada or Utah. A few places were offered, but due to personal emergencies, the size of the group, or a lack of people willing to check out these places, we ended up in Eugene. Hopefully, next year when folks are sitting in Vision Council, they will consider this issue.
    Much Love,
    Karin

  6. Hi, Karin. I was your neighbor for a while in Montana. I just wanted to thank you for the warm welcome (Rainbow hugs!) and guidance at my 1st gathering. Between helping me get my muscle cramps and spasms under control and all the other advice you graciously offered, my time at "home" was way better than it might have otherwise been. You're a saint in my eyes! Thank you, also, for this blog. It's a valuable resource for the family!

Comments that use racial/sexists slurs, advocate violence against anyone, or that attempt to sell things will not be published. If this is what you're into, do it on your own website.

I welcome healthy debate on ideas of interest to the 2014 annual gathering of the tribes.
